Hi all, bit miffed by this one. Movies that I capture using my iPhone 12 mini are blurry when viewing using the native photos app on my second generation Apple TV 4K. I don’t understand why as playing back UHD movies using plex is crystal clear. Does anyone have any suggestions? The settings on the iPhone camera app are to record video at 4K at 60fps. Suffice to say when viewing the movies natively on my iPhone the are crystal clear.

I just checked and AirPlaying from my iPhone to the Apple TV has crystal clear movies. I don’t understand why the native photos app cannot play the videos without distortion. The Apple TV is connected via Ethernet cable and it can play back UHD rips (~50Gb per film) flawlessly.

Apple stores thumbnail quality versions.

Fine for a phone but on a 65 inch tv you can definitely tell.

I don't think you get full fidelity on the photos app.
