Well, I know there are a TON of background processes going on with the setup of a new 2016 MBP. And I definitely could see there being a huge battery drain because of these processes. Now, how do we 'speed up' this initial workload?
I see in Activity Monitor that photos is taking up a huge chunk of these processes. I know that they analyze the meta data of all your photos and even work to id faces etc for some of the features associated with the Photos app. But does it really have to do this on each computer you have Photos installed despite the library being in the Cloud? Shouldn't there be some file somewhere that the app would simply refer to / or download? Instead of building it up again from scratch?
