Over the years I've taken many pictures of the blooms of my backyard plumeria plants. And never had an issue in iOS 18 doing a search for "plumeria" and having it show me the pictures.
Now, with iOS 26, I search the photos app for "plumeria" and get zero results. Odd. I chose one of the pictures and clicked the little icon at the bottom that is an "i" inside a circle. It shows info about the picture. In the info it says, "Look up Templetree". WTF is a Templetree? Been to Hawaii over 20 times, and never hear of a Templetree. According to Google, "Temple tree" is a common name for the Plumeria (also known as frangipani). Great. So iOS knows what a Templetree is but not what a Plumeria is? I would bet 100 out of 100 people would not call a plumeria flower a Templetree bloom.
In any case, neither "plumeria" or "frangipani" find my pictures, despite them all being the same as "templetree".
I wonder what else can't be found with common search names? Is there a way to fix the search results myself?
