Before upgrading to Photos I was half-way through geotagging all the photos in my iPhoto library that didn't have locations, by batch selecting groups of photos and entering a location.

How do I do that in Photos? I can't even figure out how to do it for a single photo.

edit location

the current version does not have such feature, maybe in the future,:confused:I am also looking forward to it

I also can't find a way to edit the location metadata in the Photos app. However, I just snapped a test pic with my iPhone and imported it into Photos and the location data is there, and it's accurate.

I can't find it either :/ all my location data has translated over very nicely from iPhoto, but there's no option to add new location data to new photographs.

I really hope this feature is coming soon. I use it extensively.

Huge oversight.....but then again when you consider there is no way to take all the faces data, is it a surprise you can't do that with the gps.

Missing Location data

Has anyone observed that pictures taken using the Instagram app get imported with no location data? I have a bunch of images that were imported into Photos and they are all tagged to Xinjiang China. They all appear to be images that I took with the Instagram app.

Look likes you can't. Maybe in the next upgrade...

Being unable to add or edit location info. in Photos is a major and inexplicable omission. Please take 30 seconds to tell Apple as much here:

Not doing GPS would not be some accident by Apple. The functional requirements are decided up front by product owners in Apple before the assignments go out to the designers.

Obviously GPS for casual snapshot takers, the intended market for Photos, was not a top feature requirement for launch. No surprise there.

GPS obviously was a priority, as it exists in Photos for pictures that have embedded GPS info. The problem being discussed here is that location/GPS info. can't be added to photos in the Photos app (e.g., for pictures taken when in Airplane mode and with no WiFi connection, which end up without embedded GPS info.).

It looks like Apple — thankfully — brought back the map to Photos with the latest OS update. Does anyone know if Apple restored the ability to add/edit location info.? Thanks.
