redplanet2005 - thank you so much!

I got my iPhone 3G in July 2009 and in October 2009 my PC stopped recognizing my iPhone as a device. 1000 pictures trapped on my phone! Nothing I did worked until I found your post recommending i-funbox. I downloaded it and scanned it with McAfee to be safe and it worked perfectly to save my phone pics to my PC.

Thanks again!

Hi all,

just joined a sec ago to post the result of my 2 day dig for a solution on gettin' photos other the the camera rolll from iphone to your pc. Solution is this freeware app:

http://www.podphototransfer.com/

tried it myself just now, worked like a charm. I got the photos to my pc now. It's not the most versatile tool as you cannot manage the photos ON your iphone but for overwriting / deleting photos other then the camera roll shouldn't be a problem... just sync in itunes with a different folder then previously. this should overwrite all existing. last resort would be a restore...

enjoy

i hope this will work for you..

I too am a Windows 7 user (as of 6 hours ago...thank you husband for new Valentine's Day laptop gift) I have used my iphone on my old computer and it always worked beautifully, as far as importing my iphone pics, via itunes and microsoft picture it. Now Windows 7 doesn't even recognize I have "any device" plugged in and it will not even give me an option to sync pictures. I have nearly 400 pics on my phone's camera roll and I can't use my old computer (it died a horrible death months ago, hence the new laptop) soooo, what the heck do I do? If you garner any knowledge on this little matter, I'd greatly appreciate any advice. As for now, I'll keep pushing buttons and saying prayers.

Much thanks,
laptop & apple newbie

1) Prell Cntr+Altr+Del
2) Task Manager/Processes
3) Find ''itunehelper'' and select it and ''End process''
4) Connect your iphone, make sure when you are connect, you are on homepage. (not keypad lock/Passcode)
5)Than it will open with autoplay- i hope you will be fine after this
6)Enjoy :)

With Windows XP, when in My Computer, when I click on "iPhone 3G," sometimes it recognizes it as a camera and the images are displayed - but sometimes I just get a white screen. To make it recognize it as a camera, I right click, then select "resync camera" (or something like that).

PROBLEM THOUGH.... I have 9800 images on my iPhone (photos, screen shots -- all stuff from iPhone over the past two years), BUT My Computer only recognizes 9026, and then the photos beyond that do not show up. They're still on my camera and show up on my camera, but they don't show up on the computer. I copied the first 9026 onto a 16GB flash drive, so I have those saved. But I need to get the remaining photos. Help! What should I do?

Hey I have a question. I'm about to update my iphone's firmware and I don't want to lose any content. More specifically, I only have on my laptop my Camera Roll pictures (copy paste from my computer-iphone), but those are 80, while the Photo Library has 285. Isn't there any way to transfer them to my laptop? If I'm gonna do this with e-mail, how many photos can i send each time?
Thank you.

Using: iPhone 3gs with the first 3gs firmware (3.0.0 i guess) and windows 7 64-bit with latest itunes.

edit: nevermind, http://www.podphototransfer.com/ that app works like a charm and copies all your iphone pics exept Camera Roll (which are easy without any app).

Apparently no way to upload iPhone 3Gs photos to a PC with XP

I've read all of this thread and none of the options work on my computer - a two yo PC with XP operating system. It does not recognize my iPHone as another drive or storage device when it's plugged in; iTunes sees it and will tell me how many photos I have on the iPhone but will not let me access them. Is there no solution other than emailing them or buying some online software that claims to have the fix? Apparently just another stupid omission for PC users that almost put Steve Jobs out of business years ago when he tried to be so exclusive with all the Apple propriety stuff.

Only photos taken with the iphone camera itself are 'allowed' on your iphone if you want it to be 'spotted' by your pc as a camera device...
SO, if you have any photos saved from email or saved from MMS, or loaded to your iPhone from your pc....you need to remove those from your iPhone before you can then transfer the remainder. Crazy but true.

What you need to do is create a folder on your pc, call it 'iphone photos' or something. Then choose this as a 'synch' folder in iTunes. If the photos you have on your iPhone (other than the ones taken with the camera) are stored on your pc, copy them into this new folder on your pc and then delete them one by one from your phone. If they aren't already duplicated on your pc then you will need to email them to yourself, then delete them. Hey presto, next time you link your iphone to your pc it will be spotted by the pc and you can then transfer the photos across - remember ONLY photos taken with the iPhone camera itself can be on your iphone at the time you connect to your pc. Once done, go into iTunes and the photos section - then select 'synch' and choose the new folder that you created. Now synch iTunes to your iPhone and the old photos will go back to your phone. Next time you repeat the process of transferring photos from iphone to pc, you only need to go into iTunes and untick the synch folder - then do a synch, your 'non camera' photos will be removed from the iphone, transfer your pics over and then tick the folder again in itunes, then synch again and the photos will be back on your phone. Long-winded but it works.

Go to my computer and you will see your iphone displayed as a camera.
You can double click and browse and copy those pictures to any location on your PC.

Upload pictures to PC from Iphone

Hello,
Follow following steps exactly,

1. unlock your Iphone by entering 4-digit password,
2. Attach Iphone with PC
3. Inside My Computer, iphone logo will pop up.

I hope this will work.

I know this is again an old thread ...

But the problem is persistent.

Firstly I wanted to correct all the posts asking about iTunes handling photos. Actually it is iPhoto that pops up when docked along with iTunes that does the handling.

I am having this problem on a PC currently myself and I think there may be a difference in the PC recognizing the phone when plugged into a USB directly and will charge the phone as opposed to a USB that will not, i.e. from a USB splitter.

I'll check back in a year. :)

Transfer photos to PC from iPhone

Hi all,

I am using iPhone 4G, which I have just changed with iPhone 3GS since I was interested in its camera and photo quality...

However I don't know how to transfer photos from iPhone to PC using ITUNES...The normal process of transferring through right clik is not proper with iPhone... But is there anybody who have idea of transferring iPhone photos to PC (windows 7) syncronizing through iTunes, please?

This has caused me some angst as well of late. Sometimes when I would connect my phone it would register as a device with my local drives and then other times would not.

The mystery is solved! On October 17th 2010, dhanpatel gave the answer.

The trick is ensuring you are logged into your phone prior to connecting it to your computer.

Too easy but very illusive if you don't have the Magic Decoder ring.

plug in your phone and go into My Computer and here is what you'll see

Right Click on the iPhone and you have two options on how to get your pictures
1.Explore/Open your phone and manually drag and drop individual pictures into your desired folder or
2. Get Pictures and select your desired folder, then All your pictures will tranfer over to your folder automaticly.
Thanks for the posting, I have also just like same problem, here i have got the solution of my problem.

correct you should only see the pictures your took, the pictures your synced with itunes should already be on your computer, isnt that where you originally synced them from??

Photo Transfer from iPhone to laptop - iPhone not detected

I have read from the thread on how to transfer photo from iPhone to a computer. Before, I had managed to do it and I did it successfully.

But my problem now is, my desktop computer can detect my iPhone and its folder, but when I click it, there's nothing inside - not even a single photo. Only iTunes automatically acknowledges and syncs.

Another problem is, when I tried to plugged in my iPhone to my laptop, my laptop can not totally detect my iPhone. Only iTunes can detect it.

What is the problem? Does my iPhone has so much photos or what?
It is very strange because I was able to transfer photos before but now, I can't and even my laptop can not detect the iPhone.

Would greatly appreciate for someone's help.
