PHOTOS FROM NON iPHONE / IMPORT?

I am trying to download some photos and videos from a friends flash drive thatis a non iPhone, The error said something like...Unable to view Cam/MOVOIA.MOD from HandiCam, find application in App Store or....

Please help? What App might convert? These are from a ten day vacation that I would like to have record of.

The USB Drive Stick is a SanDisk but I was able to download GoPro video and pics from it. What gives?

Any ideas folks?

.mod files are video files produced by various camcorders. MPEGStreamclip will open the and allow you to convert them to Quicktime/mpeg4 etc.

So I went to that page, did the download and install and it doesn't work. I can't See the video. It sais I need to download Mpeg2 or something from Apple and that is over $60.00. What could I still be doing wrong?

That component has been included with Mavericks and above. Which OS are you using?
