My question is how do I get two memories from the same event but over two different dates (a camping trip), to actually be able to be made into one memory? It's stupid if you can't do it because one day has only 4 pictures but I want to include them! You can't make your own memories from your photos as far as I can see. So is it by date only? What if I want to do it with the whole summer for all our camping and hiking? It doesn't show me all the photos to be able to do that.
Thanks for any help!

I admit to being dismissive about a lot of updates, emojis being just one that makes my lip curl with contempt, which is why I surprised myself for being entranced by the 'Best of Last 3 Months' feature. As others above have pointed out, it's good to reflect and realise there's a lot to be grateful for. Sadly, perhaps not the feeling for everyone when they view the results of this feature. Nevertheless, nicely implemented.

I haven't figured it out yet, either. Sometimes it's by date, and sometimes it's by location (GPS data). And sometimes it's by person....Memories compiled an entire memory slideshow of my DD for 2015, but not one from my son. Every day that I leave it plugged in and locked will compile more memories for me.

I love, love, love this feature (I am a photographer and scrapbooker) but do wish that it was more intuitive or gave better options for making your own. Hopefully they will update the functionality of this in a future update.

Within the new Photos app in iOS 10, there's a tab called "Memories," which curates various photos and videos you've taken in the past into specific memory collections. Without any steps required on your part, Memories gives you an automatic homemade movie from these past family gatherings or vacations, but thanks to a few editing tools, you can also tweak each memory to your liking (note all steps are in portrait mode, although landscape is available).

Navigate to Photos to find the new "Memories" tab in the center of the app, where you can scroll through your personally curated list of memories and choose whichever one you wish to edit and share. Within each detailed memory view, you'll find a list of all the photos and videos contained in the memory (tap "Show all" to see more than a summary), the geographic location the pictures were taken, nearby photos, and related memories you might be interested in.

The last two options at the very bottom let you favorite the memory or delete it permanently. Although the "Select" option on this page might seem like an option to remove photos only from this memory, it should be noted that deleting any content through this method will delete it from your iPhone and iCloud Photo Library, not only the memory. Jump to the instructions for "complex memory editing" below to discover how to delete photos and videos only from the memory, as well as add more.

When I click the + to add photos to a current memory, there are just a few photos to choose from, and the one that I want is not there. Any fixes for this?

I absolutely HATE this "feature". It never pulls the correct photos, gives the memory a totally STUPID name. Further, deleting a memory only temporarily gets rid of a memory. Every day the same STUPID memory comes right back.

Apple should have created a on/off toggle for this non-feature. Annoying in the extreme.
