I keep my Photos Library stored on an external drive which Photos can access when they are connected. I am not happy with some of the features of iCloud Photo Library, so I am looking for an alternative. I know that storing photos on iCloud Drive does not sync across devices. But I wonder if it would work the same as having my Photos Library on an external drive, as far as running the Photos program and seeing all my photos.
So, can a folder be stored intact on iCloud, and if so, can my Photos app access it the same as if it was on a hard drive or external? And if so, would I be able to manually add photos to that folder each month if I wanted?
