I'm new to Mac and recently noticed that my pictures don't properly display in my Pictures folder. I use iCloud's for all my pictures, and when I want to browse pictures, it will show Photos Library.photoslibrary rather than displaying the pictures right in the root of the folder. When I double click on the Photos Library.photoslibrary it opens up the Photos app rather than allowing me to browse the files right from the finder folder structure. I'm pretty sure this was not this way when I setup my Mac originally. Did I mess up something? I'm using Ventura 13.2.1.

On some sites, I can't select pictures from that location since it's greyed out:

iCloud syncs photos using the Photo’s application. That file is the Photos application library, you can right click on it to open and browse the library structure.

However, I would recommend getting used to the Photos app.

How do you browse and attach an image from that photo folder when on a forum like this one? Yes, open a separate window and dragging is an option, but just not logical.

In the file picker dialog you should see a "Photos" option further down the left side (where your screenshot shows the "Pictures" folder as selected). Select that to browse the contents of your Photos library.
