Hi guys,

Brand new iPhone owner here, just got my new iPhone 4 last week. So far it's been great, but I have one issue...

I have photos of most of my contacts in my contact list... but whenever one of them calls, their photo doesn't show up in my caller ID. It just displays their name over my chosen wallpaper.

I'm with Virgin Mobile in Canada, and I know they only show numbers on caller ID, not names... but if my iPhone is smart enough to associate a contact name with a number, certainly it should be associating their photo with it too?

Anyone else with this problem, and anyone know of any solutions?

OK I partially solved the problem. As it turns out, my contacts' photos were not showing up on my Caller ID because I had assigned photos to them through the address book on my Mac. Apparently, according to the guy at the Apple Store, I had to assign photos to my contacts on the phone itself.

So now it looks as though I have to go through all my contacts and reassign photos to all of them. That seems a little labour intensive to me... does anyone know an easier way to do this?

after reading your post, I went to go check my phone to see if all of my contacts had an image, and I realize that one was missing. The correct image was in my Address Book, but if would not sync over onto my iPhone. So what I did was click the Edit button, and I zoomed in just a little into the image, then I hit Sync in iTunes and the image transferred over. I don't know if this would work for you, but it may be worth a try.

Thanks for replying. All the photos of my contacts transferred into my iPhone no problem, they just don't show up on my Caller ID. Maybe going through each of them on my phone and zooming in or out slightly will do the trick... I'll give that a try and let you know if it works.
