The robot/four tablets picture with the four dots on the tablet might be used for setting up and aligning the robots axes for production of these tablets, the tablets might come in a "nest" of four and each robot works on the four, then it slides it down on the production line and another "nest" of four tablets gets worked on again. Just my thoughts

It DOES make coffee!!!

Containers for the new iThing

I'm looking forward to the cases, skins, and sleeves that show up for the new device. I want something just like the iSkin Solo.

Is it just me or does this shmuk not know what he is talking about.

There is nothing more annoying than someone who is not only arrogant but also wrong at the same time.

Someone that doesn't know how to spell looks like more of a "schmuck" than someone who writes pseudo-statements.

That’s just what I’ve always pictured: MacBook Air on the bottom, iPhone on top. I hope it’s like this instead of the more rounded 1st-gen iPhone style backs we’ve been seeing. Round is nice, but it does add some needless size.

I was hoping (as a developer) for a 2:3 aspect ration to match the iPhone—but that may be constrained by what displays are readily available and proven.

CNBC just announced Eisner just arrived at the event

citing the possibility of a huge collaboration between Disney and Apple.

I'd just like to add, ``How is this a surprise?''

Fake... Apple makes everything in an assembly line method, not like that (4 at a time). It would be a waste of resources, time and money...

Fake... next

Besides, that looks like Aluminum, we need the plastic bar to help with radio waves for Wi-Fi and supposedly included 3G radio.

This is a TEST stand! The robot arm is used to rub/punch/press/bend etc whatever to see how hard wearing the surface is.
The other pictures showing the front under black cloth are most likely taken in a similar set up, testing the front for wear and tear.

That is not a pic of the actual production line. It is obviously a setup to "train" the robot. They had 4 of the devices in a holder similar to the way they would be arranged at that point in the production line. They were getting the robot programming done at that time. In reality, there would be a massive line of the things coming by but they would be spaced just like those 4 are. I say this is legit.

I just hope the back Apple logo will be backlit from the screen and not just an iPhone style logo..

we program the robots from CAD now-a-days, so no teaching involved

This is a Radiation testing facility.

They are testing 4 at a time, maybe to test B,G,N and GSM networks at the same time or something maybe.

These do look quite genuine actually.

Don’t hold your breath: Apple laptops light up there because the screen illumination is already there, and the lids are thin. But there’s a whole computer in between the logo and the light source in this (if real).

I do like the orientation of the logo: it means they’re promoting it in portrait orientation like the iPhone (though of course it does both), which is a good visual way to set it apart from most of the past’s failed tablets.

Looks very probable... in keeping with the flat-edged design of the unibody Macbook Pro and Macbook air.

The color looks like aluminum before any kind of finishing process is applied. It may appear a little white because of all the black in the picture offsetting the auto-contrast of whatever low end camera took these photos. (Low end compared to, say, a Nikon DSLR).

You guys are all wrong!! This is not the new tablet. This the New Apple TV! You think Apple only has one surprise for today?
