Hi everyone,

I know that many bought an iMac Pro here so I wanted to share two photos of my setup with two different kind of stands. Note that you have to buy the VESA Kit for iMac Pro.

This is the first one. This uses a Ergotron LX HD Sit-Stand. The HD means that this is suitable for the iMac Pro as it can carry heavier monitors.

After posting this on Twitter, Ergotron really liked it and they sent me another one that is more heavy duty, but smaller. The following uses the Ergotron HX Desk Mount:

I know that, but without stand is something I simply can’t dig out anywhere :(

I have a vesa mount for iMP on the way, but still not sure if my desk vesa stand will be good enough (supports up to 8.5kg)

I don't think the stand weight will make much a difference. Just assume the iMac Pro is around ~9.5kg. I don't think you should use something that supports up to 8.5Kg.

I do believe that you are right. I have a perfect desk stand at the moment, supports 2 monitors, up to 8.5kg each.
And I want to continue to use it, since it's the best desk mount I have ever used/seen. I wanted to order exact same one, but with higher weight supported, but it doesn't exist.

I guess I will have to purchase something else, but it's funny that I can't find what iMP weights without a stand anywhere. Not even on apple website :(

Can you not deduce the weight by finding out the weight of the stand and subtracting? Surely it’s the same stand that’s used on the standard iMacs.

I think the set up looks nice. Does everyone copy MKBHD, Jon Morrison and Dave 2D?

Not that easy. I thought of that already, but can't find just the weight of the stand at all. And there is one more variable here, and that is the weight of the vesa adaptor :)

But all in all, it doesn't matter. I'm going to purchase another desk arm and stop fighting the inevitable :)

All right, best of luck and have fun. Look forward to seeing the results afterwards.

In my experience, if those are the specs, then the 8.5 kg stand may be inadequate. Do you have a link?

In fact, a lot of the stands that can hold more weight are also somewhat flimsy in real world usage (although you say yours is good). The stands that I have seen that really have the fit and finish and strength and stability for a big iMac are $$$.

It's 8kg, not 8.5kg... My bad, I've thought that it was 8.5kg. But it doesn't matter, since I am now in search for a new stand. iMP is to expensive to be playing with it like that :)

P.S.
But that stand is super simple, and the quality and ease of use are second to none for that money. I should know, I've tried more then 10 of different stands in the last few years :)
