I've got a weird Photoshop CS3 problem that I'll attempt to explain. I'm having trouble selecting individual lines of text on a layer.

In fig. 1 it appears that the entire block of text has been selected, but in fact only the first line of text has been selected. In fig. 2 you can see in black how large the selection area is for each line of text. The selection area stays unusually large no matter the font size or leading amount. When the leading is close, as in fig. 1, I can't just select the second line of text by clicking directly on it because I'll actually end up selecting the first line. Even though I'm clicking directly on the second line (or third, fourth, etc.) I'm still within the selection area of the first line.

    Make sense?

I've searched through the options and menus and can't find anything to uncheck or turn off. Can anyone help me? I can't tell you how frustrating it is to try and work with text in Photoshop like this. It's almost impossible since I can't make any changes to different lines of text.

I'm having the same problem all of a sudden. Any chance you figured it out? Much... .. . . MUCH appreciated.

Are there other layers of text in the same position that are not visible?
PS is notorious for selecting text on layers that are not visible.
    ....
Also, just tested in PS, this exact thing does happen with an extreme baseline shift.

    Thank You

It's funny how the simplest of solutions can be the hardest to see. Thank you so very much. My baseline was at 144. Don't ask me, must have been some strange mis-input, more than likely for font size. Anyhow. Thanks a million. :D
