Photoshop elements 9 question

Hey guys,

I had Photoshop CS2 on my old MacBookPro, but for some reason I can't bring it over to my new MBP (plus, its obviously an outdated version).

So, I was looking at Photoshop Elements 9 on the Mac App Store and was wondering if it had the same features as photoshop, just less of them or if it was a totally different app (for a different purpose).

Pretty much, Photoshop CS2 had everything I need, so I was wondering if I will find what I had in CS2 in Elements 9.
