Photoshop takes forever to open because it gets stuck when it is "Initializing the Type Tool" It didn't used to do this. How do I make it stop?

Do you have a lot of fonts installed on your machine?

Try opening FontBook and checking for duplicate fonts. It will show in File/Resolve Duplicates if there are any. Then turn off any foreign language fonts unless you need them, especially Chinese, Japanese and Korean. The Osaka font folder is about 9MB, even though you only see the English typefaces.
