Photoshop Installation Not Working

Hello everyone,

I had a trial of Photoshop and I purchased it on disk.
I arrived and I tried to install it, but the serial number wouldn't work.

I called Adobe and they said it was because I had a trial.
I tried to uninstall it, but it wouldn't work, so I drug everything to the trash.

Now when I try to install Photoshop from the disk, I get this error:
Critical errors were found in setup for Adobe Photoshop CS4:
undefined
The installer database is invalid: please re-install the product from the original media
Please see the Setup log file for details. Click Quit to exit Setup.

Has anyone experienced this? If so, can someone please help me fix it?

Thank you, I did try that (found it on another forum), it didn't appear to do anything..... Any other ideas? I'm freaking out a little bit
