Photoshop problem

since ive had leopard on my machine photoshop has been really weird (and its typical as i need it for a project).

I can no longer drag items into photoshop from the desktop or use "place" to add them to my image. so i open the image seperately in photoshop, and when i drag it over into my original image, the image i just dragged is now black and white!
i cant figure out how to fix this problem, do any of you know?

i have photoshop cs2

The first issue sounds like it could be a permissions problem, try repairing permissions first.

Not sure about the second. Are you saying that the image changes colour space when dragged into an RGB, LaB or CMYK file?

yeah i drag the full colour image over and then it appears black and white in the new document.
