I have a question that I should not have to ask because I've done it before but flat out forgot how so here it goes. I am editing some photos and want to make the edges around the photo a softer white with kind of an angelic effect. I am using photoshop elements 6. I am not wanting to use the gaussian blur effect on this type of photo. I use dto use a microsoft program that did it really easy and I swear I have done it in photoshop too. I will try to attach an image to kind of show what I am wanting to do. I am wanting to do some of them for a slideshow and just some to have that effect just to print. I assume there is an easy way???

Feather and how much depends on the rez of the file. Outline --> feather --> inverse --> delete. You can play around with drop shadow etc...

In PSE it is filter > correct camera distortion then use the vignetting controls

or you can use any of the selection tools, feather the edge and then cut.
