Photostream and iPhoto

A question about Photostream and iPhoto. Say I take pictures on my iPhone, is the only option on my Mac is for it to put the pictures in iPhoto? I don't use iPhoto; I use Picasa instead.

I've been wondering the same thing. iPhoto might look snazzier than Picasa, but Picasa is faster and more useful.
