Photostream deleting photos after 30 days - NOT!

I thought that the photos on Photostream self deleted after 30 days - and if you wanted to keep them you should download them to the device.

But all the photos in my Photostream folders ( on iPhone 4s and in iPhoto ) remain.

What gives?

The 30 day limit doesn't seem to be in place yet but the 1000 photo limit is for sure.
