If you're one of those people who loves compiling PHP from source code to run it locally on your Mac (because you don't use MAMP or other solutions like it), go grab the source code from PHP.net and get compiling! ;) There are some nifty new features and modules in this release (Enchant module for spell checking, PHP Archive (phar) support, internationalization module - just to name 3 of the modules), along with such programming niceties as lambda functions, closures, and late static binding.

    Thanks for posting!

    This change caught my eye...

PHP5 and Oracle 11G with connection pooling without patches, third party daemons and other issues. This helps PHP be even more suitable to certain enterprise level apps than ever before. PHP is definitely growing up.

Late Static Bindings, been waiting for this for what seems like ages.

Unfortunately right in the middle of a project right now, but I'll get it on a test Mac (OSX 10.3.9 tho') and try it out.
