I think this is a perfectly normal question and I voted Simple, just hands and date. During the actual wedding, have do not disturb on but during reception I think it can be business as usual (except maybe during any speeches, special dances).

I think the AW is gorgeous. If I were a guy, I'd definitely wear with tux to a special occasion. For me, it would depend on the occasion and what sort of accessories I eventually get. I think it coordinates well with a tux but maybe not so much with a formal dress.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply.

Before my AW, I wore this Citizen Watch every day for about 10 years. It was a wedding present.

It was chunky. It was heavy. But it looked good. And it told me the time and date.

But since I got my AW last June, the Citizen has been sitting in a drawer. I've taken it out a few times to consider wearing it...then I put it on and realize how heavy it is yet how little it does compared to my AW. I stare at it for a few seconds, then put it back.

I've gone smart watch and don't see myself going back. Whether I'm wearing a t-shirt or a tuxedo.

Wearing a tux next weekend for a wedding. First time I've dressed up "black tie" since my own wedding almost 10 long, long, long....I mean wonderful....years ago.

Planning to wear my SG AW with my 3rd party black milanese loop band. Was playing with the faces last night, trying to decide which is the "classiest."

I'm not in the wedding party and hopefully won't be in that many pictures.

Chrono, light grey color.

Black and white photo album of love one. Great wedding banquet conversation starter.

For some reason, that standard analogue face on the Apple Watch just reminds me of a cheap Braun travel alarm clock I had when I was a kid. Some my think - Braun, isnt that cool? Well it just reminds me of miserable wet cold caravan holidays as a kid. So no :p

I'd just use a small minimal digital face... Or Mickey Mouse if you want to play the clown like of like the novelty cufflinks.

I have used this face 24/7 since getting my watch last year and it looks great either in casual jeans/t-shirt or in a suit.

I originally voted to go with Citizen, but now that I see that your Citizen has a blue dial I'm leaning more towards the Apple Watch (and changed my vote to reflect this). If going the AW route I would choose the the last utility face you posted, but either with no complications or just the moon phase. Since it's black tie, I would also lose all color unless you have colored cuff links, then I would match those (perhaps even choosing the color face).

And here we go. The whole outfit went together nicely. Checked my watch several times ("this cocktail "hour" has been going on for 90 minutes"...."it's 10:15 and they just starting serving dinner....") Saw several AW's at the wedding but didnt ask what faces they were rocking.

Looks like way more than I thought. Enjoy your accessorizing!

Now, now - that kind of snark isn't necessary. What's the harm in wanting to look nice? It doesn't even mean it's for someone else. There's no shame in wanting to look your best for your own self image and self respect, and the OP shouldn't be hassled for that.

OP, looks like you made a good choice - looks very clean and classy.

Looks great!. That black milanase works perfectly with the coat. I've been looking for an option for my SS AW to wear with suits myself, and have been debating between the black classic buckle and the link bracelet. I'm thinking the new black milanase might be a good option as well. I either work from home or wear business casual in the office, so I'm not in a big rush to decide.
