IF, and it's obviously a BIG IF, I am able to pre-order an X for the November release would it be better to have the phone shipped to my local Apple Store or have it shipped to my office?

Would I have any problems picking up for the store?

Thanks!

ship to work. never had an issue before. don't have to fight traffic, parking and any lines. usually if it's sent via FedEx - you may get it around 10am like i have in the past from apple. maybe even the day before launch like the iPhone 4.

Why in the heck would you want to get near an Apple store on that day. I always have delivered to the office and that way you can relax while you new phone comes to you!

I would warn my UPS man it is on the way. We are near the first on his route so I would have early in the morning.

Shipping to work would be your most convenient option, especially being you know your carriers delivery routes and when they typically deliver packages to your workplace. And then you could also avoid the crowds at the Apple stores. Which will be hectic.

Had to pickup 7+ on opening day. Had an appointment but still waited 2 hours to get my turn. My X is coming to the house even though they don’t deliver until late afternoon.

I know in the past, Apple would ONLY ship the phone to the billing address on your credit card. I have everything shipped to me at work, but having new iPhones shipped to me here was never an option because of that. Apple also disables the ability to authorize that the package be left without a signature for iPhone launches, so if you have it shipped home, you have to be there to sign. If you can't be home to sign for the package, the ability to ship to a store is a nice option.

..also the address on your wireless account (if you buy it with a payment plan). although there was a small window to change your mailing address where i was able to change mine to my work. with my iPhone 5 online order you were able to choose your own shipping. I believe it started with the iPhone 6 pre-order IIRC.

I'm buying it outright, and I can use my work Visa debit card (it's good to own the company!) so that the billing/shipping address(es) match.

However, do I also need to change the address on my Verizon account just to be sure there is no hiccup on Oct. 27?

Thanks!

Ship to work. Never had an issue and with businesses in most cases you get delivery by 5pm where home can be much later.

Apple rarely allows in-store pick-ups on items you'd like to pick up in-store the most. They will likely allow only shipped orders.
