Forgot I’m heading to the beach Friday and set my pickup time for 1pm.

Can I just show up earlier in the day and grab it.

I assume so and shouldn’t be much of an issue

It depends largely on the store itself, however the company rule is no. It might be worth asking the store in advance or having it in writing in an email if they do agree to it.

The beach will always be there…your new fruity beast may not be there if you go earlier or later 👀
Around you mess, find out you will…

Some stores will send you away until your time, others will serve you if they've already served everyone else that is supposed to be there. I guess only one way to find out which way your store will go. Just don't be a jerk if they send you away - it's disappointing but they're just gonna be following policy.

It depends. If its busy they will just tell you to come back at the time you choose. I tried to go an hour early but was denied and had to come back an hour later.

Depends on the store as others have mentioned. But check apple on line again for inventory/pick up times. My store had opened up more morning pickup times. I was told to reorder with the new pick up time and just cancel the first order. I think they either got more inventory or were holding pick up times.

They're going to make a stink and give that typical retail worker stink eye and attitude because you're forcing them to rub two brain cells together to figure out your edge case, but you will ultimately get your phone if you come in early.

I might go two hours early right after work, instead of the originally scheduled time. I was told at my local store yesterday that it's ok as long as I have an email saying "Ready to pick up".

You have to wait for the email that your order is ready to be picked up and this email includes a QR-Code for the staff to easily find your order in the first place unless this is different in the US but in that case, it sounds cumbersome for the staff haha

For those of you who do this, what line do you wait in? The no appointment line?
It is entirely store dependent, but I have seen anywhere from them putting you at the end of the line of the scheduled appointment people, or straight up turn you away if they can sniff out that they can get away with it because of your passive character.

That’s really unfair. These are humans, trying to do their job. This is not an edge case, many people try to go early - if everyone does that, then the whole system of pickup times falls down. It would be the same in any other appointment-based scenario.

I asked my store when I went in yesterday to return the FineWoven case and they said no and that we must show up at the time of the appointment which I guess makes sense because if you have someone else comes at your time slot and they get bumped in ahead of you when its your appointment time I can see where someone would be pissed.

How does this time slot pick up actually work then? because it would be interesting to understand the process to know why many of the stores are adamant that customers stick to their time slot. Do you have to sign anything? are you asked to inspect it before leaving the store? or do you just wait in line for your time slot, show your QR code, get it scanned, they go get the iphone and then out the store you go? because it seems weird that many store religiously stick to time slots so be interesting to get a take on why that is.

Just for it to be organized

That’s all

They can expect 100 pick ups from 10-11 have those phones ready for customer so the line goes quick

Order won’t be cancelled you can go anytime you want as along as it’s ready for pick up

I can only assume then that all the iphones due for pick up are organized in the back room based on time slot so no messing around with having to look at serial numbers. Time 11 am comes in, store members goes in back, picks up 11 am tagged iphone, customer leaves happy.

I am assuming that is how it works then, yes?

Close enough.

Nope, your phone already has your information pre loaded on it if you pre order. There is a specific one configured for you waiting in the back.
