Pick up iPhone 6S / Plus on launch without pre-order

Last year at the Apple Store, you were allowed 2 iPhones per customer without a pre-order/reservation. Will it be the same this year? Or do you need a pre-order / reservation this year? I waited 9 hours in line last year and was like 15th in line without a pre-order.

Which store is this? I was queuing last year outside Westfield Valley Fair for 12 hours, and I was something like #200 in line. Damned scalpers...

You will more than likely be able to wait in line to get an iPhone on launch day with apple and some carrier retail locations. Probably best buy too. But you will have to wait a long time. Lines will be pretty long. Now, the S updates are not as popular as the Number updates. So it wont be as bad as last year.

It was the Arrowhead Apple Store in Glendale, Arizona.

I'm going to the Sprint store to pick mine up. I never have to wait in a line, and I always get the phone that I want.
