Picked this phone up for $130. Really digging it so far for the price. Hoping Android 5.0 isn't too far out.

Blu has been showing up at my local Best Buy. I think what I saw if I remember correctly was the Plus version of this smartphone. It was a big screen and unlocked at $149.

Yes. Seen that model also online. That's cool. Wish my local Best Buy carried them.. I always prefer to check stuff out in person rather then order and hope I Like it.

Blu Studio X sounds like 'porn editing software' :)

Shame Blu aren't selling in Europe. Looks like a really nice budget handset and cheaper than the Moto G 2014

Ha lol! Yea, seems on par with my Moto G (1st gen) except larger display, dual Sim, and better camera imo.

I'm not sure if I would hold my breath for 5.0. Blu produces great budget phones but they don't have the best track record for updates. I hear it's because of mediatek drivers but who knows.

Looks like a nice phone for the price! I got a Blu Studio 5 for free a while ago and it was a pretty terrible device. Glad to see and hear that Blu has stepped up their game since then! The box shows and says the phone is running Lollipop, but it ships with KitKat on the device. Hopefully an update is coming soon.

Definitely the best built device I've used from the company so far. I expected it to feel pretty cheap like the others so that was a pleasant surprise.

Figured I would post this finding for anyone maybe getting a X. As mentioned cases etc will be harder to find then most but I'm getting a skin and screen protector from Skinomi. I have never used them before but heard of them. May very well throw up a video after install to see how I like the product.

There are a number of really good budget phones under $200.

You can include the ZTE ZMAX for $180. A well-reviewed phablet by users with extremely good battery life (3400 mAh). If the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 is out of the reach, this ZTE ZMAX is also a good alternative as well as the $150 BLU Studio Energy with its 5000 mAh battery.

Flagships get all the attention but the bread and butter of the industry is the midrange to low end. I think downgrading to a cheaper phone can feel like upgrading sometimes in certain features. I just find it odd many of these midrange devices have more STAMINA or have micro-sd slots or can look better (BLU Vivo Air/Gionee Elife S5.1) than more expensive flagships of today. The lines have been blurred by these China-made phones.
