Cultivated ginkgo trees add to the late fall splendor around here. The edible seeds they produce and drop in the early fall really stink, however.

Sorry it has been a while since posting in this thread, yet again. :)

So many great images, but I will comment on just a few.

In trying to "catch-up" I may have comments that at second look hit me in a different way.

Since I don't want to be a "spammer", I limited my comments. There were so many great photos since my absence.

With the right cropping, this would be a great stock image. Spot on IMHO.

looks good overall. Love the general composition. Looks a little soft, but that does not hurt too much.

Taken yesterday during lunch hour - featuring some of the same dramatic clouds as in Dark's sunset, probably.

Nikon D70, Tamron 17-50 lens @17mm, f8, 1/500s, ISO 200, converted from a single RAW file to a tone-mapped HDR image with Photomatix.

A very stellar image. Might be stronger with some of the sky cropped out. Still love the photo. That lens is really great IMO.

A little contrasty on my screen, but I love what I see.

I truly love the tonality and composition of this one. You really have a great eye.

Another image that is worthy of being a stock photo IMHO. Congrats!

Another winner IMHO. Given that I just took two cruises since mid October - this image really hit a cord with me! Bravo.

As Frankie and Clix already know, I love having other photographers art on my walls. I truly would like to have this one to add to the collection. Send me a PM if you are interested.

Caribbean Princess at Princess Cays

(Some background):

Between work and vacations, it has been a busy couple of months for me!

As a thank you to my sister for her help during my break-up with my ex (and all that entailed - emotionally, physically, financially, and personally) of 13+ years; I took her on her second cruise (and my first) in mid October.

What will follow over the next many days (weeks perhaps) are a few of the "winners" of that trip of the photos I took (or at least IMHO). I had to to try to balance the "photographer" in me; and trying to make this trip "special" for my sister.

While not the "best" photo; the attached image perhaps shares best how I felt about this trip. The first time in 10+ years that I allowed myself to lounge by a pool or beach.

And the shear awe of seeing the cruise-ship that I was on in it's full splendor. The Caribbean Princess was an amazing ship. 3100 passengers. The rear most "deck" was the Skywalker Lounge looming 18 floors as they count them.

Cheating perhaps here on the picture of the day idea. My previous post was started before 12 midnight.

I don't care for the 1st image of the beach too much, but the 2nd photo is quite cool. It's probably hard to get a photo on a cruise boat with so few people on deck.

Is that a TV in the background?

Apple coming out of Dell's shadow? I dont know, I snapped it and thought it looked cool....

I really like this picture. It is kind of mysterious and lonely. If that makes sense.

Good Job!

Kevin

Thank You, It was really hazy and I wanted to show that in the mono version. So I used a slight noise with some dodgeing and burning.
Trying my hand at a more artistic touch.

As promised, here is a another photo from my October cruise on the Caribbean Princess. This shot was done with the Nikon D50IR (converted by Life Pixel) with the 10.5 fish-eye lens at ISO 200, 1/320 at f/9.0).
