The use of DoF in this shot is excellent. Talk about standing out in a crowd. Was the girls response to the camera arranged, if not its a shot in a million:)
 
I took this today. It was freezing, with a wind chill of about 0 degrees fahrenheit. Nonetheless, the light was too good to pass up going out for some shots.

I like the composition and all, but I've been having a hard time getting the exposure to look right. Anyone is welcome to play around with it. See what you think looks good!

adorable! and eating tomatoes at such a young age.... good habit. thats really cute though

There really are some fantastic photo's in thread. I'm not in the same league as most of you guys but heres one I took a couple of weeks ago that I like anyway .

I know her, but doubt she realized I was photographing her. We were leaving the party and I took a few pictures while already waiting at the exit. She looks slightly pissed because a friend, who happens to hate carnival, refused to stay any longer.

You've captured a pair of great eyes. I think you could have reduced ISO to 800 :). Did you use fill flash?
 
Embalse La Mariposa, 02/02/07

This water reservoir supplies an incrediby large area, and it has become largely eutrophied thanks to the water hyacinth Eichhornia crassipes The regional government is restricting pictures taken at the reservoir because supposedly that was "taken care of" months ago and doesn't want the public to know the true condition. The bad thing about this water hyacinth is that it uses up to a liter of water per day per plant, so it's a huge problem!

PS Hawk

I have'nt played much in Photshop lately, so Here goes a project of mine.
The image was taken today of a Hawk. I was able to get really close, but the background was really bad. So, I added the sky from a stockpile of sky/cloud photos...(you can never have enough of these) So both are originally mine just mashed together to achieve a better (hopefully) image.

Did you zoom in/out while releasing the shutter?
Or did you use another technique?

ISO 800 would mean that the shutterspeed had to be 1/125. A bit long
for this bouncing tigger and a 85mm lens. I didn't use a fill flash.
Fortunately for her she has her mother's eyes and not mine....:)
 
Industrial

I really liked the industrial-ness of this, croped just slightly to get rid of a street light in the forground.
