whoops! sorry for got to mention that part.

I use a Manfrotto Neotec tripod ( not as amazing as a gitzo, but by far the easiest and fastest tripod to setup. ever! )
with a Manfrotto 488RC0 quick release midi-ball head.

i used a Canon RS-80N3 (?) remote to trip the shutter in "bulb" mode

Why would I want to enter (permit or no permit) it looks like a giant Septic Tank.
 
Hahaha! you know, you're right! It kind of does look like a giant septic tank! I can assure you that is not what it actually is, it happens to be a flour Silo

Thanks, Chip! Isn't she sweet? I've got more deer images but they're not processed yet.... It was just so fantastic being right there with these lovely creatures! Definitely worth getting up early in the morning, which is when we got our best shots.

And that pool photo is also incredibly stunning, but I'm guessing it's easier to get a shot like that when your parents fracking™ own it. ;)

I know I could have cropped more, but it's not horrid the way it is now. Plus, it's 1:36am and I've been hiking all day.

EDIT: In fact, I'm so tired that I forgot to attach the image. :rolleyes:

EDIT #2: It looks much better in iPhoto and as my desktop wallpaper. The colours look really crap under Firefox. :eek:

Oh, I actually wanted the branch. I like the blurred foreground and background. I have a shot without the front branch too. S/he kept hiding so I had to chase after and into the bushes. (I think there is a thread for 'what would you do for that perfect shot' -- yeah, I got a little dirty.

I did us the f/2.8L -- LOVE IT!! I took that and my new f/4 300mm IS, both take great images.

Think it would be better without the branch, but its an awesome shot anyway. :)
