Great color and use of DOF with background blur. I would guess this was an evening or early morning shot as it is difficult to get one like that in bright light?

Very nice, I like it. You had tulips in February in NY, or were these from a flower shop? The small aperture (F14), black background, and light from below would indicate you may have used a flash. Care to share the details.

From a flower shop and yes I used the onboard flash plus a little outdoor light.

Thanks. Yeah, I took it around 7 AM, just as the sun was coming up. I couldn't sleep that night so I walked outside and took advantage of the sunrise.

Careful, getting up early to take pictures can get to be a habit, there is no better light for flowers, and they are always their most colorful in the morning before the heat pounds on them.

Nice wedding photo, I always hated doing weddings (for friends and family), but with a digital I think I would be a little more relaxed (but still a pain) knowing if you had a picture or not. I never knew with film until it was developed.

You are really putting the 50 mm to great use, they really are a superb lens for 1.5-1.6 crop cameras with normal perspective and wide apertures. You really do a great job with selective focus in your pictures.
