As the people descend the spiral, the light gets dimmer. Very nice composition.

Love this picture picture with the selective focus and painted colors, the type of photo I have been working at this spring and summer, really nice.

Was this the 200 2.0 VR or your 18 - 200? Do you have an non-cropped version? I like the yellow throat, and think this could easily have gone in the "yellow" thread.

OK forgive me for posting a pic that is a year old, but I've never posted this one and I loved it so much I used it in my portfolio for school back then.

Data- ( off memory )
Canon EOS 10D
Canon EF 100mm f/2 USM
1/100 @ f/2 ISO 100 ( i think... )
Post processed in CS ( this was before i had CS2 lol )

location: at my cousin's wedding in Reno, NV about this time last year (2005). This little guy was on the bride's side, and I couldnt resist the "kodak moment" (pardon the pun).

Really a great picture, glad you shared it. I bet his parents would love a copy of it.

I love that picture. Can I ask a n00b question? Is the color accenting something you do in postprocessing, like color replacement in Photoshop? My Canon S2 IS had a color accent and replacement program which I really liked, but since my 350D doesn't have it, I assume this is something people do in postprocessing.

He could answer better, but I'm pretty sure it was PP. In photoshop an easy way to do it is make a layer, de-saturate it, then erase off where you want the color to come through.

Thanks for that! Gotta go try it...

Yes his statement was correct, I did the conversion in photoshop. What i did was make a copy of the background layer, and converted it to grayscale. I then made a mask on this layer and brushed away the area of the camera to bring the color back in.

Is this something PSE 4 can handle? I just recently got PSE and would like to try different things with it.

a random shot during Track season. Last few steps of a 1600m race. I couldn't quite catch the guy ahead of me.

Thank you, Snap! (And also thank you to ksz for the compliment!)

Actually it was shot with a Micro-Nikkor 200mm f/4... guess I forgot to put that in the post. Working with the depth of field on this macro lens is a bit of a challenge and I really should have had the camera on a tripod. I did crop it lightly, as there was a distracting bit on the left side, part of one of the petals, and I decided that the image looked better cropped than uncropped.

That's a thought, putting it in the "yellow" thread, but I am sure that I'll be coming up with something which is more predominantly yellow....

Thanks!

My brother was the skiier praticing his rail a good four-five months before the ski season begins. I didn't like shooting into the sun, but I wanted to shoot the front of the body and didn't want to move the other direction. Guess I'll have him do this again in the mid-morning
