I stayed in Lindau for 6 weeks, never made it to Konstanz, so I don't know the statue, but I think I can ID, the Jag. It's a XK model, Probably XK150 roadster.
And those are dutch license plates. But the statue is still a mystery

Nice crisp photo, great color.

I wonder if had you moved some to the left and used the pine tree to frame the right side of the picture, rather than a focal point, if more attention would have been placed on the lake. I like the lake, the pine tree is not very interesting to me.

I think some of the foreground detail is a bit distracting. This cropped version is probably more pleasing.

wow! i'm not a 'flower' type of guy, but that is a gorgeous pic! good shot.

There really needed to be more light (it was overcast) so the movement of the bird is obvious. I love the intensity in its eyes....

I agree.

Also, is that snow????????
I was trying something different. I didn't want to frame the lake because I've seen too many perfect framings. I was looking for a more earthy composition, showing not only pristine order but also rough randomness.

Yes, that's snow even at the end of June. The lake is at a high elevation, which also explains the crisp and clean quality of the atmosphere. Two months earlier, according to the Park Rangers, there had been a near record snowfall with accumulation of about 183 inches. The picture below, Igloo Restroom, provides a hint...

Work and Rest

Sometimes we must work, sometimes we must rest.

The standing guy was boarding up an empty lot from which the "resting" guy appeared to have been evicted.
That sturdy cart is a common feature in the lives of poor people here. Mainly they are used to collect recyclables.

Edit: Hmmm...the above photo (ksz: the Venetian) provides an interesting visual and moral contrast, I find. Rich and poor...work and play...gross fantasy and harsh reality...

Snip.....

Really nice photograph. I can't seem to stop scrolling up and down over the photograph (1024x768 screen), it makes for a really nice effect. It brings a smile to my face.

Thanks and glad you noticed! The photo has 2 subjects: the ceiling and the hallway with people. Depending on where you look (or where you scroll), one subject gives way to the other, which was the reason for taking the shot off-center.

If you look at the top right corner you see the ceiling, and the ceiling dominates from the right.

If you look at the top left corner you see the hallway, and the hallway dominates from the left.

There has been posted so many great photos since my last comment in here... good job everyone. :) I especially like the girl in the fountain by annk, and the flower by macgfxdesigner. The girl really stands out in the picture because the water is all white and gray.

Here's one of mine that I find interesting:

Unedited except the frame.

I'm not quite sure what it is. It is a piece of cardboard-like paper that I found at a camp-fire place in the forest. I took a picture of the scene as it was instead of removing the rubble that casts shadow over it and the seeds/broken pine needles/dust on the paper.

Just thought I'd show you an " Architecturally beautiful" building, yeah right, I think it's the Adelaide Law Courts, fairly new and ugly. Oh and this isn't ment to be a "good" photo, Just showing our "beautiful" buildings:D

Love the flower, macgfxdesigner

Nice picture!

The other day, I almost--but it flew away before I could whip out the camera--got a picture of an insect that looks remarkably similar to a hummingbird. Not so colourful, though. It had the same size body and wings as the smallest "hummer", but it had a thin sucking device like a butterfly. I have yet to see a real hummingbird in Korea.
