Hi!

can anyone that have an iPhone 16 help me out?
Can you take a picture of the USB-C port of the iPhone 16 in good enough light and clarity that you see the actual connectors?
Please do it if you have a European Union sold iPhone. Also want to see a picture of a US sold one for reference if you have.
I heard they differ.

Big thanks!

It’s not weird at all 😀 there are several pins within the USB-C standard and I want to see which Apple enabled in Europe. Here is s good guide:

I can post results if anyone want to be educational.

iPhone in Europe has the same USB features as models in the U.S. and China. Not sure why the pins would be expected to be different.

You usually see missing pins on USB-C power adapters, not the phone itself.

Well, there are EU regulations for USB-C.
I just wish someone could post some photos 😀

There aren't. EU said, implement USB-C, not implement a unique version of the standard.

It's pretty challenging under normal lighting conditions to take a photo of the port and pins. I can confirm on my 16 Pro Max all pins exist.

This got me curious. What would be different and why? The USB-C pin layout is a standard, so not sure why it would be different in the EU. I can see all the pins on my iPhone too, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're all wired up...so photos may not show or prove anything.

Can you try? Shine a light and use macro to take the picture if your other phone has that.

There are multiple things that you can enable within the USB-C port, that’s why I want a picture to see what Apple have enabled. Might not be everything the port can handle.

You're not going to find any missing pins on the iPhone because it wouldn't allow data to pass through.

The only time you see missing pins is on the power adapter, like this 20W, for obvious reasons.
