Me and the fiancee

I guess I'll use this to introduce myself (or us, rather). I'm TJ, an Army pilot. She's Rachel, a med student. I am in Iraq, she's at school. I love Macs and have for years. She hates them but I'm slowly attritting her defenses. She'll have a MBP soon, I swear.

I'm the goon on my back, she's the raven-haired gal stuck beneath me

12 months until we're together again.

Nice to meet you all!

I'm TJ, an Army pilot... I am in Iraq

I know the bases there have lots of high tech amenities for when you're off duty, so what's the Mac experience over there? Do they let you bring your own laptop? Do they have any military owned ones there that a person could use? Is there a wireless connection all over the base, or even small hot spots? And if so, what are the restrictions for joining the network and can a Mac easily log on to it? Etc. etc.

Here is a recent pic of my wife and I. We will celebrate 8 years of marriage next month!

Also TJ, I have a cousin serving in Iraq that is due home this month. I am sure I speak for everyone here when I say that we appreciate you!

Well, we chipped in as a unit and bought a very expensive satellite link-up internet deal, so we have internet in our tents 24/7. The only real restrictions are that no classified or sensitive material can be processed on any computer connected to it. So it's a personal-use thing only. There are some wi-fi spots around, but they're run by a contractor operation and it's about $12 a day or $70 a month to use it. Otherwise, the Army has a nonsecure internet system for people to use, but it's subject to all the Army rules, i.e. no porn, which is not a hit with lonely young soldiers.

There are Macs around. I know about 11 people in my battalion who have them, so it's a growing trend. Of course, everything works better on a Mac.

What do you fly? I used to fly CH-53e's for the Marines.

Sikorsky FTW!!

Keep your head down and your ASE gear ON out there. Be safe, and good luck!

I fly OH-58Ds. I'll see your Sikorsky and raise you a Bell.

We see your kind about once a day. Usually a flight of a CH-46 and CH-53 will transition through, escorted by an AH-1. You guys have some boss aircraft with those Cobras.

Here are a few pics of my wife and I. We're celebrating our 1 year anniversary AND expecting our first child this month!

Thanks for keeping the picture directory going, Doctor Q.

Here's us.. all of the pics are from our travels this Summer; somehow I managed to look skeezy in all of them - we'd either just been on a roller coaster or in the ocean in each of them, so my hair was always messed up.

I'm the one on the left in the first pic.

That building in your last picture looks familiar. ;)

Yeah, is that THE tabernacle?

That is one of the soon to be 136 temples (124 in operation now). To be exact, that particular one is in San Diego, CA. Never been there, but it looks nice, lol.

This is the most famous one (in Salt Lake City):

Does he not take the sun glasses off? :p
You two look good together. :)

Enjoy It!! I am expecting my first in January! She wants 4 but we'll see after this one:D I always wanted a big family, but she wont eat spaghetti or mac&cheese. I think those go hand in hand.

Mine is on a sausage and cabbage kick right now. Before it was Jalapeños and Pickles. This is when you see how crazy she can really get:p

Maybe he's half vampire

hm, I digress. Must be the meds ;)
I was thinking "daywalkers always need protection from the sun!" the last few times I saw those pics, but didnt know if anyone had seen that South Park episode about red heads. Oddly enough, it was on the Comedy Channel tonight. :)

Caroline at my graduation :) co-starring me as the grinning buffoon.

Page 14 Has Been Taken Over...

Kind of funny to be just browsing threads and run into people posting pics in front of the SD temple... And then to add that great shot of Salt Lake - this page has been taken over for sure.

Small world.

Not bad. ;) I wanted to post some pictures of my marriage to this thread, but we have broken up since then, so... yeah, I am my own significant other right now. :(

My SO and I have gone down different paths since I posted our picture on here. So yeah, I'm my own SO right now too. But Lousiville, KY is going to get one heck of a Creative (when their Apple store opens soon) out of the deal. :)

So, Victoria came to visit me today. I'm currently attending The University of Missouri to study journalism and advertising-design. She still has another year of high school. Hopefully things will work out, and she'll be here next year to study journalism as well. Oh... and she's an AVID Mac-user. We even have matching iPhones.

You guys make a cute couple Matt. I'll root for you since I'm in my last year of college and my girlfriend graduated a year ago so it gets tough but definitely doable. Adium will be your best friend.

Lol. What's that supposed to mean?
