What Bob Dylan advertised, probably drives, there's a Steve Jobs connection.

I wonder if he got the V8 300C or the V6 300c (annoying that there's really no way to tell the difference anymore XD)

One time way back in the day, Steve Jobs used a 300c in one of his keynotes for showing off ipod connectivity. *shrugs* That was a neat picture, but I can't find it.

Anyway, if I were to get another 300 I'd want an SRT8. Already had a 5.7 and loved it until the engine broke, and my V6 is ok but I miss the torque. Hrmm.. oh yeah, if you can find a deal on a lifetime powertrain extended warranty get it. :] I so regret not doing that :(

Back in the day (actually just before Late 2010) the 300C was V8 only.

Are we not allowed to post a certain brand? :O
Of course you are! It's just that I'd love to have a lot less BMW in my car-related threads.

Okay russkiy, step back from the keyboard.
Why? Just because I can't stand BMWs and their poseur owners?

Just like the iPhone, everybody has one. :) I have one as well!

See how easy it is to own one? lol
Lol. Most of the ugliness posted here that is 3-series is probably real owners. And no, not everybody owns one or aspires to own one. I don't want to and you can't make me. :p

Manual or auto? Options?

-GT Premium Coupe
-Sterling Gray
-401A (black/cashmere)
-Automatic
-Brembo Package
-Comfort Package
-Shaker Pro Audio

Went with the auto since it's a daily driver and the gears in the auto are steeper than the gears in the manual so even with 3.15 gears out back the auto + 3.15 vs. the manual + 3.73 still accelerate the same, but I get a little gas mileage benefit with the auto. Plus my last GT was a manual and sitting in traffic five days a week with a clutch sucks since I work smack in the middle of downtown and just getting to the jam-packed freeway to get out of downtown takes a solid 20 minutes. The nail in the coffin though for the manual was that too many people are still having issues with them but I haven't heard of a single issue with the auto, so being a DD I don't want to mess around with anything. I figured ultimately that either tranny I got there would be days where I wished I had the other, but that there would be more days where I wished I had an auto so I went with that. Car won't see any track time of either kind either anyway.

I waffled on the glass roof, but at the end of the day I still came up with more pros than cons, $2k aside, so I skipped it and I'm ok with that.

Yeah, keyword being anymore hehe. Before the 2010s it was really easy to tell a v8 from a v6 too. Now the only way (from outside the car) is if you hear it running. Of course, this is a good thing, the 1st gen base models were so basic they had cloth seats and chrysler even went as far as skipping the chrome trim on the interior.. everywhere. haha.

Obviously not such a good idea when your higher end model looks like this:

I would like to kindly point out that this thread is for posting pictures of cars and discussing said cars, not insulting the owners en masse or individually.

Why do you care about what others buy? Why hate a car for the people who drive them? BMW's are good vehicles( though they have slipped a bit in terms of handling/fun to drive which made BMW popular). Yes some of their owners buy for the roundel and can be jerks on the roads( though they are now shifting over to Audi), but don't use that and take it away from the car.

I drive a Saturn. Sure many of my friends made fun of me for driving a Saturn because it doesn't have that great of an image, but as soon they saw it they shut up because it is a pretty nice car.

I pushed my dad to buy his new Cadillac ATS. Yes Cadillac still to this day is seen as an old mans car, but I don't care. The ATS IMHO drives better than the 3 series. It's more fun to drive and handles better. It's what BMW used to be.

Look at his posts from previous car threads. Pretty sure he hates Germany for something that happened over 70 years ago. My grandfather has that same irrational hate for anything related to Germany.

Sounds almost perfect. I went with the manual, and I have 0 regrets. No sitting in traffic though, so the choice was easy. Had traffic been an issue, the decision would have been much tougher.

Any plans for the exhaust? Stock is wayyyyy too quiet. Needs some oomph.

Yup, I live about 20 minutes from Tousley Ford so I'm going to drive up there this weekend and pick up a set of GT500 axlebacks and hopefully have them installed at the time I take delivery.

agh almost bought one of those in that exact color and with the two extra doors...needed the extra storage, and stupid me didn't get it with the 6 speed of course, oh well, yours definitely looks great with the springs, what kind did you get and hows the handling with them?

I ran the GT500's for a while, and they sound great. Was looking for something a bit more aggressive, so I sold those, and went with an X and Flowmaster Outlaws. :)

I still have my 09 TL, I can't believe it's already been almost 2 years! I've but about 26,000 miles on it.

....Someone recently hit the rear passenger door/fender. I don't know how people can just do something like this and run off as if it never happened. Of course I need to get it fixed asap bc I don't want it to rust.

How's the acceleration on that thing? My mom might be in the market for a new car soon and was considering the XV, but at 148hp, it seems very underpowered.

It's decent-- good enough like any compact sedan these days. I thought it might be underpowered when I was doing research, but after test driving it, it's better than it reads. The CVT has a nice kick to it from start. The best word I can think of to describe it is "spirited." Unless your mom is coming from a WRX, it's more than enough as a daily driver. And you'd think the engine isn't enough since the car is bigger since it's supposedly a small SUV, but it only weighs ~3100 lbs. Apparently it's doing well-- Subaru is selling more of these things than Imprezas these days, and last I heard, they're cutting back on production of those to make more XVs.

I came from a '12 Jetta for comparison. Was a good car overall, but got so tried of getting stuck in snow with the VW for two seasons, couldn't deal with it anymore. The wife also thought we ought to get a less "girly" car.
