My 2021 Apple TV 4K just arrived. I don’t know what settings I should use on both Sony TV and Apple TV itself. Anyone can help?

TV: Go to Settings>Channels & Input>External inputs>HDMI signal format>HDMI 1-4>Enhance format (HDR) or Dolby Vision (there is no option to use both so I use Dolby Vision instead

Apple TV: Settings>Video Audio>Format>4K SDR/HDR/Dolby Vision (I use SDR since most content aren’t in HDR/Dolby Vision)
Match Content: Range & Frame Rate (automatically adjust to match content)

I used that TV setting already. For Apple TV, should I use 4K HDR or 4K SDR? My streaming apps are Youtube, Netflix, discovery+, Disney+, Apple TV+, itunes movies which only Disney+, Apple TV+, and itunes movies are HDR

If you choose HDR, it will force HDR even on SDR content and make some content looks a bit washed out. If you set to SDR, it will automatically match upwards if the content you’re playing are HDR/Dolby and switch back to SDR.

You can play with it and see which one you like better. I prefer SDR since I’m mostly on YouTube (less HDR content) and let it switch format when playing content on other apps. You’ll notice the screen gets brighter or darker (depends on your picture mode) when it auto switch on Dolby content.
