It's ok, don't be sorry! This is a large investment in a laptop. Personally for heavy 3d use I will be looking at the 2.2 and 2.6 seriously. I'm leaning towards the 2.2 just to keep thermals down but if there isn't a massive disparity between it and the 2.6, then I may opt for that.

As others have stated you would probably be ok with a 2.6 or even a 2.2. I'd recommend saving your money, but that's just me. The i9 doesn't seem worth it with the current chassis design, but others will argue against that.
Thanks for great feedback

check this video out. some nice benchmarks if you're doing video editing (which from your screenshot it looks like you're doing).

consensus is that theres almost no difference between 2.2 2.6 and 2.9. better to get a 2.2 and upgrade the GPU for 100 extra dollars

What about if money isnt an issue for me would the i9 be better at anything compared to the i7 2.6 all i want is fastest machine but it seems the i9 cant even beat the i7 money isnt an issue so just want best machine

If money isn't an issue, keep your i9 and call it a day. Certain tests, like the ones you are questioning, turn out that all three machines are nearly equal. Other real world tests, this is not the case. Some members have documented these things in other threads.

Again, if money is no object, don't worry about it. Your machine doesn't appear to be defective. However, if you are looking for best bang for buck, the i9 is certainly not the machine to buy.

Thank you :)

My mind is blown at the psychological disconnects I have seen around here lately. One will read page upon page and even comment on a particular matter.

However still, that same person will ask a question or start a thread on a matter they are fully educated on.

I disagree. If money isn’t an issue and neither is battery life then I would keep the i9.

i9 definitely will gulp power compared to either the i7s. The 2.2 i7 will have less power draw but can still compete with the i9 in most programs (again this is program dependent).

But if battery life is less of a concern than having then absolute most power possible, you should keep the i9

Would you so go for i7 2.6 cos it would run faster than the i9 with higher cpu boost speeds sorry for so many questions i just wanna make sure the i9 is better at something or is it a waste of money tomorrow i have to make my mind up

The i9 is mainly for users who are trying to compensate for something. o_O
