Pictures missing from iMessage

15 pro max on 17.0.2. I did a restore from a backup of my phone from an hour before. I went to look for a picture in a message thread and it seems all the previous pictures in there are gone. Under settings in storage it shows those specific threads have 10+ gigs of data. Looking to find those pictures.
