Pictures not showing up in iMessage

I recently just got the iPhone 12 Pro. Every time I send pictures to my wife it only shows up as a jpeg. I set up the phone as new so no backup. Anyone else having this issue?

I've been having this issue as well. Not sure why though. Hopefully it's fixed in 14.3.
