Hey,

I have a new Macbook Pro 2.2Ghz with GeForce 6600 GT 128MB.

I'm trying to run a simple game like pingus and it runs fine but in the opening scene the music runs fine for a few seconds and then starts to bump and lag.

Is there anything I did wrong? Should I install a video card driver or something?

Thanks ahead,
Eyal

-First off the MBP comes with either a ATI Radeon X1600 or a Nvidia Geforce 8600M GT.
-There is no drivers to update unless you are using Bootcamp
-Reset PRAM by pressing CMD-OPT-P-R during boot.
-Repair disk permissions

🙂

I meant 8600 GT you right.

It's a new computer why should I do all of those things?

I did all of you suggested.

Unfortunately the problem remains the same.

Is there any other solutions I can use?

What settings are you on? Do you have other apps opened?

No application is running.
I'm running the game under the resolution of 640x480.
Activity monitor doesn't show any application which runs on full CPU.

Any ideas?

Hmm, i'm still on OSX 10.5.2 since I've heard several reports that 10.5.3 and .4 has bad drivers with poor performance

:-/

I didn't knew that.

Is there a way to uninstall the 10.5.4 combined update?
I do believe my computer was faster before the updates.
