Currently have the space gray Series 1 Apple Watch with black sports band. I am going to upgrade to the Series 4 and considering the gold, but want to know how stain resistant the pink sand (or light colored) bands are.

I had a pink sand sports band. Wore it daily. Overall, I think it repelled a lot of everyday stains.

But in my job, I have about an hour a day I That I open boxes at a retail store. Weirdly, the ink from the cardboard boxes stained my watch, and I could never get it out. Mind you, this same ink has never stained my clothes or my skin. But it rubbed off and remained on my watch bands.

Right, that's what I wondering...so you weren't able to clean the band?

I tried... soap and water, oxy clean, magic eraser. Even soaking it. It got better (faded) but never went fully away.

Since the gold gets the pink sand, get it, and add another darker band and interchange as needed.

I ordered that gold watch with the pink sand sports band also. I'm a bit worried about how the color will look on me but I have a white sportsband as a spare. This one looks more light beige with a slight pink hue to me. I'm also thinking of buying a midnight blue one as someone suggested would go well with gold.
As for your question, I wear the white band a lot and it seems okay. I don't mess with ink imbued objects though like the other poster.

Personally, I didnt like the band with the gold. Some people
Love it. The midnight will go very well, the red too. Black of course. I ordered the new lavender grey for my SS gold. I’ll post pics when it comes in.

My wife had a pink sand band that got discolored over time. The magic eraser didn’t work but a wool cape cod metal polishing cloth got it back to new. When the bands get discolored, it’s only on the surface. It can be removed to restore the original color.

I just saw a pink sand sports band today on a rose gold s3. It looks pretty good!
