So the PIP in iOS14 doesn't do YT videos?you either need to pay for youtube red, jailbreak youtube app, or use a browser and then you can use youtube pip, sad how youtube forces apple users to pay for pip on the app; but on old phone Galaxy s8 I am able to use PIP without paying for Youtube Red
Well, for me there is only youtube premium, and it dos not give you PiP, so the only way is the browser. (Or jailbreak? I don’t know about that)you either need to pay for youtube red, jailbreak youtube app, or use a browser and then you can use youtube pip, sad how youtube forces apple users to pay for pip on the app; but on old phone Galaxy s8 I am able to use PIP without paying for Youtube Red
You better wait for an actual developer to answer that.So the PIP in iOS14 doesn't do YT videos?

For the app? Doubt the developers will ever do that, less reason for you to give into their subscription service. So the PIP in iOS14 doesn't do YT videos?

must be a samsung thing then, was always able to do it since galaxy s5I have never been able to make PiP function on Android either for the free YouTube version. How do you do it (I have a Sony running Pie if that matters) ?
I'm sure they'll try and get around it to push people to Premium but if it's baked into iOS not sure how they can restrict it
And even better with an Adblocker!Looks like it does via Safari
YouTube works with Picture-in-Picture in iOS 14, but only through Safari
Users of the iOS 14 Beta have discovered that if you begin watching a YouTube video in Safari, it will work with Picture-in-Picture.www.imore.com

Edit: you can also push the video off to the side so you get background audio:
Hey guys
How does PIP work with YouTube? Does it work? Is this going to be a workaround for background playback?
No I haven’t had a chance to install on my tester yet, but I was just going to recommend that app. Pipifier is excellent on the iPad. You use the share sheet on Youtube in Safari and “run Pipifier” and it goes PiP with full functionality as intended in the OS integration.Has anyone tried Pipifier with the Youtube website in Safari on ios14?

Pipifier is great! I so wish it was available on the iPhone

In safari yes not in the app yet.So the PIP in iOS14 doesn't do YT videos?
They will likely do it like on android where you have to pay for YouTube premium for PIP in the app.For the app? Doubt the developers will ever do that, less reason for you to give into their subscription service.
It works so long as you use the web browser mode.So the PIP in iOS14 doesn't do YT videos?
You can just full screen the YouTube video in Safari and then swipe up to close the app. PiP will enable automatically.
