Pitaka MagEZ Case Pro 2 now available

Just noticed this is finally available on Amazon. I’ve been checking every few days. I ordered one and will see how I like it. Amazon says it will be delivered Saturday.

I received this today and am seriously contemplating sending it back to Amazon. The back feels just like their MagEZ and Air cases, which isn’t bad. The sides are smooth and almost slippery feeling when holding the phone, though. If you are used to a case like the Caudabe Sheath or one similar to that in size, this case is also a bit taller. That is to be expected since it offers more protection, though.
I don’t know. I was expecting to be much more enthused about this case when I got it, but I put it on the phone for a minute or two, felt how it made the phone feel and then put my Sheath back on. I’ll give the case a second chance and see what I think one more time. Maybe I’m just too happy with my Sheath.

I got one and it's also going back. It does not work with my edge to edge screen protector (lifts up the corners). Also, the power button on mine did not work. The magnet seems pretty solid though.

i have this case on the way to me, what are the reasons behind everyone returning it? starting to think i should have passed on it lol

I might be in the minority. But, I think these Pitaka cases are way overpriced. I don’t know how the air is worth $59. The pro 2 looks, well, ugly, IMO.

Back in the day when they were one of the only magnetic cases that allowed QI charging (kindof like magsafe) they were worth the premium. But now.. honesly any ultra-thin case with integrated magsafe would be fine.

Wow, I was thinking that I would be in the minority returning this case, but it looks like I’m not the only one disappointed with it. I had really high hopes for it, but it ended up a big letdown for me. I tried it one more time, but it’s going back.

It’s not as grippy, it’s pretty big, and I just don’t like the design compared to the old ones. I also don’t like the button feel.

I am keeping mine

I like the feel and most importantly the magsafe functionality is intact unlike all the other rugged cases i tried

Curious, was yours difficult to put on your iPhone? I had the first gen And it pretty much got damaged with me trying after 20mins - just would not go on and screwed up a good DBrand decal.

Mine isn’t even close to that. Tight, but easy enough on and off.

Not a lot of cases are going to have enough wiggle room to include a skin as they're designed to fit the phone tight without (unless we're talking about the Grip).

I would think it would not sit well with a skin. it is a tight fit..but it better be. i certainly would hope manufacturers wouldnt leave "wiggle room" in cases for skins as it would defeat the purpose. The case should be tight and precise..both of which is this case. LOVE IT

The bonus part they definitely agree with you yeah should be working without the case as that’s how it was designed didn’t realize this. I’ve reached out to pataca and they were kind enough to let me send back the original one and that I can order the other one for just the shipping cost but they’ve updated me yeah it should not be on with the skin
