I received an email from Pitaka today:

New Cases for New iPhone and Take an Exclusive Peek

They are releasing the Air Case for the new iPhone.

“These thinnest case we ever built. 0.6mm thin. Made from the finest selected 600D filament with a limited supply.”

I’ve been using the MagCase on my iPhone X since they released it. I love these thin, minimalist cases and will certainly be getting the new Air Case. The MagCase is 0.65mm thin vs. Air Case 0.60mm! Any other takers?

I’ve been using the MagCase on my XS for about 8 months and love it. No signs of wear at all. I’ll be getting the MagCase again for the 11 as I use the MagMount.

Yeah man! I’m really intrigued by the new Air Case though!

Yeah I love minimalist cases, so the thinner the better! If you end up getting it, post some pictures of it here if you don’t mind! I’d love to see it on the phone and hear what you think of it.

Will do Matt!

I’d also be interested in other’s feedback if they get it before me.

This is now my go-to case. No more being obsessed with searching for the right case.

Same here. Love Pitaka!

I see the Mag on their website but not the air. Are their any pictures of it?

They look quite similar to me.

Agreed.

I emailed Pitaka for additional info: The main difference is that the Air Case will not have the metal plates inside to use with the MagMount, which means it will be thinner, and the colours and texture will be denser, giving you an ultra-thin touch.

I don’t use the MagMount, so the Air Case is right up my alley.

The Air Case looks really interesting. I just reviewed a pre-release sample of the MagCase for iPhone 11, using my iPhone XR, and was quite impressed. Super thin minimalist cases like that aren't what I would typically use for my phone, but if I were to use such a case, the MagCase would be the one I would choose. Such a great hand feel! And so amazingly thin! I can't imagine that a case could be any thinner--the AirCase must be really something. Here's my review video of the MagCase for the iPhone 11...

@kgenova Kristin: Hopefully Pitaka releases the cases at or shortly after the iPhone 11 launch. I seem to recall that they do.

Great review. This is the first Pitaka MagCase for iPhone 11 on YouTube! The only negative (as you stated) is the case is a fingerprint magnet with oily fingers. Not a huge deal breaker, just a minor annoyance.

Thanks! I was surprisingly impressed with the MagCase. Super thin cases like that are not really my personal preference to use, but I were to use a super minimal case, I think it would be the MagCase! As far as release date is concerned, I believe their cases should be available to order right after launch, or very soon thereafter...

So, I checked with Pitaka on the availability of the cases. The MagCase should be able at or shorty after launch. The Air Case should be available around October. Whatever that means, LOL.

My plan is to get the MagCase and use that until the Air Case is available.

Pitaka MagCase and Air Case orders are live!

I want to try the Air Case, but :(
Shipping Notice: Shipping starts 15 working days after Apple delivers its new iPhone.

I ordered the Apple Clear Case to tie me over. Delivery this Friday!

I ordered the Air Case. $54.99 regular price, 20% off flash sale $43.99, plus an additional 10% which brought the price down to $39.60!
