I've been out of the laptop game for a while, but my first couple of aluminum MBPs suffered from some noticeable pitting on the palmrest area, presumably from the sweat on my hands. On my last MBP (2010), I applied a protector (was a self-adhesive plastic/vinyl material, but color matched well with the aluminum), which solved the problem for that machine. Is this still an issue with current laptops? My assumption is that it is (for certain people, depending on body chemistry), but just thought I'd ask here to see if anyone else has experience with this kind of issue on the current MBA.

Have been using my 2013 MBA for over 5 years and no signs of pitting or corrosion. Never saw this on any of my laptops before either.

My MBA 2012 suffered that not pitting but discoloration on the right side. I always assumed it was due to my bracelets scratching it. And then I put on a moshi brand sticker that matches perfectly. That solved to situation.
