I'm being slightly fictitious but also wouldn't be surprised. Seems price gouging is the name of the game anymore. PS 5, new Xbox. Housing... Anything new that conveys and commands top dollar or high demand.

So the amazing rumored low pricing is real indeed but of course Google's purchase site is down I'm afraid these phones might be nearly impossible to get for a couple months.
