Hi all

Wondering if anyone has had this issue. A pixel is missing on my watch face. See pic. Series 4 so haven’t had it a year. Is this something apple will fix / replace? It’s so small it doesn’t bother me but I usually sell my watch when I buy a new model.

Any thoughts?

Shawn

I would be definitely raising it with them and doing it in person at an Apple store so you don't end up with the 'no fault found' response after sending it in.

If it's something that just started happening I would imagine it's it could also spread.

I presume that you have tried a shutdown and restart though..?

Yep - sadly still there. Will pop into apple store as you suggest. Training for London Marathon with the watch and don’t want to be without it (or a replacement) so hopefully they can replace there and then

If it is covered under AppleCare, (either with or without the screen replacement fee)
and you have a credit card with enough extra credit for a week or so, they will ship you a replacement watch, and put a hold for the amount, which they then return once they receive your old one.

Apple does have a dead pixel policy, not sure what it is for a watch, but they do have a "magic number" of pixels to be dead before its considered a problem (it varies for their different products). on a display as small as the watch, 1 might do it, but not sure.

You could also try calling them, as they can handle a replacement over the phone.
for me in the US, I had the replacement and a box to return the old watch in 2 days, and the refund within the week.
(I had to do this when my watch screen had an unfortunate run in with the tile bathroom floor, it went in the return box in a plastic bag)

I broke my S3 by dropping it on a tiled floor about a month after launch, not fully but it separated the 2 pieces of laminate sapphire crystal by a small amount and produced a small sharp edge around the display. I couldn't risk swimming with it so I took it into an Apple store in Liverpool after talking with Apple online about various replacement options on my AppleCare policy.

At that time they were doing no in store replacements (even though the telephone rep said they might) of a watch for any reason at all and all they could do was take it in and I received a new watch body about 5 days later (breaking my perfect recorded training history of course).

Good luck with the genius bar though ^^
