So i edited a batch of photos and used export to jpg as opposed to the normal save (in order to get the normal file size)... but have noticed that this strips most of the exif info (strips date/time captured, shutter speed, aperture, lens zoom, etc)..... so now I have to put any editing on hold until I find a way to edit and save a jpg without either having the file size balloon or lose all the exif data.

Adding some batch processing tools might make it better! (unless they have an I've not noticed them).

Still it's much better to pay £10 (or whatever it was I paid) than £17.58 per month to Adobe.

Batch processing comes in the form of Automator and the Pixelmator scripts therein. Is this similar to what you call batch processing?

If it had CMYK and Grayscale colour spaces to work in and output to then it would be a viable option for some print designers to look at. Still a fantastic app though.

It would be nice if the App store would let me download it (to my Mini). I get a message asking me to sign in with another account (though I was bought on the account I'm signed in as).

It does work on my MacBook though.

Yay :) Any more crumbs? A time frame?
I'm really looking forward to the next update.

No time frame but it is on their list of feature requests and they confirmed it is coming. I also asked about possible plans for a Vector based App; they refused to comment :D

The most bang for the buck drawing program EVER!!!

I love Pixelmator and their team is very interactive and helpful on their forum.

My one wish is the ability to select multiple layers and do "group" edits. Right now you have to do them one at a time.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.2.2:
Improved Pixelmator document compression so that when saving to iCloud, images are saved even faster.
Now you can apply strokes to empty layers, too.
The brush previews show up correctly in the Brushes palette.
Sometimes the app would crash when opening. We fixed this.
Now the Quality slider works in the "Save copy as" dialog when saving documents in JPG file format.
Soft Proofed Pixelmator documents now open correctly.
Solved multiple problems with Refine Selection Tool (slider, text value fields, freezes).
Fixed the rest of Spanish and French localization mix-ups.
You can use the text fields in the Levels dialog again.
Fixed rare crashes that happened while using the Gradient Tool.
Now you can open Pixelmator documents that contain very large shapes.
Other improvements and bug fixes.

That's weird, since I use Pixelmator for vector work all the time...?

I would love to see Pixelmator get the backing of third party software makers so that they can have various additional filters and power - Nik, Alien Skinware and OnOne etc.

Sometimes I think the best software would be a simple one with basic expected features and you custom it with 3rd party plug ins. Pixelmator would be ideal for this purpose. Darn shame Corel Draw fell so far behind as it too should compete head on with arrogant Adobe. - And yes, CS6 Photoshop will be my last version of Photoshop given their new subscription service being FORCED on people.

I'm talking about a professional grade vector drawing app. Pixelmator has basic vector drawing tools and you can only save a bitmap file so its a bit pointless having vector ability in Pixelmator at the moment.
