You find this somehow worse than games that involve a lot of up-close-and-personal stabbing and shooting, with every one of your victims' blood splattering all over and bodies being dismembered in gory detail? Continuous murder sprees are okay, but a simulation of how a virus spreads is what you call out as sad and disgusting? If you weren't aware of this other category - shooting/stabbing/murdering games - there's literally thousands of that kind of game for you to be disgusted by and complain about - literally most of the bestselling games on any platform.I can not (and also can) believe that there was a game whose goal was wiping out humanity. A sad and disgusting premise IMO. Glad its changed so you can save the world.
The premise of Plague, Inc. is to figure out how to get the virus to thrive (unfortunately, in the real world, lately, a lot of places, populations, and politicians have been doing precisely what the virus would want). This actually teaches pretty well what humanity should not do in a situation like this - it's a little macabre, but it's much more of a dispassionate simulation (with some ominous background music), showing you a bunch of numbers and charts and graphs - not hardcore gore like in the other games.
The other kind of game teaches you how to murder hundreds, even thousands, of people, and such games get rated higher if the bloodshed is more gory - and millions of people are playing those games every day. But it's Plague, Inc. that you single out as being repulsive?
