1. Is it faster to join IUP via the web or the App Store app?

2. I have already configured my phone and just need to “check out” (just join the IUP program and pay). How long does it take to just join/get approved for the program? (Under 5 min?)
3. I assume it may be easier for me (and give me a better chance) to get the phone on launch day if I do in store pickup given that there are about 6 apple stores within 30 miles of me). Or is the approval for IUP so fast that it really won’t matter?

Thanks

For those who have ATT: do you need the user name/password for the att account or just the #/zip/last 4 of social?

For AT&T, if you are using the phone that is currently attached to the line you are upgrading while you’re purchasing the phone, you will not be asked for any verification/account codes. Only the #/zip/social.

I'm thankful for these forums sometimes. Exact questions I had -- I am AT&T and would like to join the IUP on preorder day. Credit isn't an issue and can pay outright just in case. My biggest concern is simply how long the process of applying for the IUP takes.

I have the iPhone X, color, and capacity favorited in the app -- I just remember the horror show that past preorders have been for me and would love to get a jump on this one again.

Does the CC needed at the time of enrollment have to be the same as what I have on my iTunes account? Because I have a debit card on my iTunes account and know that a CC is required for the IUP enrollment...

So many ridiculous questions...

Does the credit check take you to an external website or is it all done within the app?

I've been told by Apple that this is seamless -- I would assume that means right in-app since them taking you out of the app to do something else only to spit you back into the app when finished seems a bit unpolished by Apple's checkout experience. I wish I could officially answer that, @STOCK411.

My question is will it have autofill if I do it in the app? That alone will take a min or two.

I can answer these for you as I went through the process last year!
1. It is faster to join on the full website because you can fill out the forms quicker HOWEVER the app usually comes online first, so have the app and website on refresh to see which pops up first.
2. The whole process, if you are quick, takes about 5 minutes and it is seamless (all on the Apple site or App, credit check is done automatically with instant feedback, all without going to an external site).
3. I wouldn't count on it, supply in store may be tight, but who knows! I usually assume that delivery is better, but your choice. Best of luck!
